Order

Storyboard and Chronology

Keep the reader's order and the story world's order as separate concepts.

What it does

Scenes can carry chapter and scene order for presentation, plus chronology labels or values for story-world time. That separation supports prologues, flashbacks, and deep-time sequences.

Why it matters

A nonlinear book needs more than one kind of order. Presentation order controls reader experience, while chronology controls what could plausibly be known inside the story.

  • chapter_order and scene_order represent presentation.
  • chronology_value and generated sort values represent story time.
  • The model supports both grounded dates and relative/deep-time labels.
